During the run-up to Christmas the annual 'alcohol awareness' campaign in Coventry saw a different approach taken by the partnership between the local council, police and health authority. To help get the serious message across they recruited Imagine Inflatables to design and install some large inflatable - and very novel characters. These took the form of two giant inflatable elephants placed in turn atop a prominant building in the city centre. The first - being in place for friday nights through saturday - was a very 'party-like' nellie,.. off her feet complete with a santa hat and - of course - vibrant pink in colour!!.. Imagine operators then had to work during the night to change this for a more folorn looking version,.. grey with blood-shot eyes!.. looking very sorry for itself ie representing the worse for wear on sunday!!... The elephants certainly had an impact and helped to lift the campaign otherwise dependant on leaflets and posters.
