We were asked by Audi Australia to investigate the possibility of creating an NCAP - style inflatable test target. Euro NCAP is a voluntary vehicle safety rating system which originated in the UK but is now backed by the European Commission, seven European governments, as well as motoring and consumer organisations in every EU country.
Using photo images of NCAP tests on various early prototypes Imagine has produced a very heavy duty tarpaulin structure comprising a marine grade 0.8mm PVC tarpaulin frame underneath a 0.4mm PVC fully printed removable sleeve. The whole structure will be attached to a moving “sledge” which will be impacted by a real car in crash tests.
