In a homage to Pink Floyd, Fox TV wanted to fly a giant inflatable Spider-Pig over Battersea Power Station to promote the launch of the Simpsons Movie on DVD. The promotional stunt was co-ordinated by leading innovative agency 'Ministry of Fun' who commissioned Imagine Inflatables to create the massive porker!.. Similarly Pink Floyd employed Storm Thorgerson to manage their stunt in 1976 to promote the 'Animals' album, including having a marksman to shoot the pig down - just in case of escape!! So - in the interests of authenticity - a trained and qualified marksman was on hand this time. Fortunately he was not required (unlike the original!!...) as all was under control of Imagine Operations staff!.. The result being an impressive sight of 'Spidey' flying amongst the chimneys of the iconic London landmark!!.. 'Pigs on the wing'!!!...
UPDATE ;
A clip of the stunt lodged on YouTube is receiving loads of hits!!... See for yourself,...
